Here's the full interview:

Q: Hi Tejas, could you start by telling us about your role as an IT Analyst and what you find most rewarding about it?

A: As an IT Analyst at FinalFunnel, I engage with end users to resolve their IT issues and evaluate new technologies to improve our processes. What I find most rewarding is seeing how my efforts enhance user satisfaction and contribute to the company’s overall efficiency. It’s fulfilling to know that my work supports both our internal teams and our broader business goals.

Q: What drew you to the world of IT, and specifically to a role at FinalFunnel?

A: I have always been fascinated by how technology can solve real-world problems and streamline operations. Joining FinalFunnel, a company focused on innovation, offered me the great opportunity to continuously learn and apply my skills in a dynamic environment.

Q: Demand generation is all about the customer journey. How does your role in IT help ensure a seamless experience for our clients and internal teams?

A: In my role, I primarily support our agents and management team by ensuring their IT systems run smoothly. By quickly resolving their technical issues and implementing efficient tools, I help maintain an uninterrupted workflow, which indirectly supports a seamless experience for our clients through improved team performance.

Q: FinalFunnel is built on innovation. How do you stay on top of new technologies and continuously learn in a fast-paced environment?

A: I dedicate time daily to learning about emerging technologies through online courses, industry blogs, and webinars. I also collaborate with colleagues to pool knowledge and insights. This continuous learning helps me stay updated and bring innovative solutions to our work.

Q: Looking back at your career so far, what's a piece of advice you'd give to someone just starting their journey in IT?

A: Stay curious and never stop learning. Technology evolves rapidly, so being open to new ideas and adapting to change will serve you well in this field. Also, focus on understanding the business context, not just the technical aspects.

Q: If you could have a superpower that would make your job easier, what would it be and why?

A: If I could have a superpower, it would be to move at lightning speed, like the Flash. I could instantly be anywhere, at work, home, or across the world, helping me respond to IT issues quickly while also fulfilling my dream of touring amazing places. It would make both work and life more exciting.

Q: What was it about our company culture or mission that made you feel like this was the right place for you?

A: FinalFunnel’s commitment to innovation and a positive work culture stood out to me. The collaborative environment and encouragement for continuous learning made me confident that this was the right place to grow both professionally and personally.

Q: What’s the most interesting IT problem you've ever had to solve, and what was your process for figuring it out?

A: One of the most interesting IT problems I tackled was the recurring issue of system slowdowns caused by excessive cache and cookie buildup. Our agents, who frequently browse multiple websites for research, experienced delays due to this. I researched and implemented an automated solution using eScan and Google Workspace that cleans browser cache daily without interrupting user work.

Q: Can you describe a time you had to automate a repetitive task? What was the outcome?

A: I’ve consistently looked for opportunities to eliminate repetitive tasks through automation. For example, I built a VBA macro that generates all corporate email variations, checks them against suppression lists, and outputs results in seconds – replacing hours of manual checks. I also created an Outlook VBA extension to automatically collect delivered emails from blast campaigns and export them to Excel, which saves the team around an hour daily.

Most recently, I designed a real-time campaign dashboard in Google Sheets using Apps Script. It consolidates multiple campaign sheets, applies color-coded logic (Qualified, Disqualified, TBD), shows percentage progress with dynamic in-cell bars, and logs last updated timestamps. The dashboard auto-refreshes, giving instant visibility into campaign health without manual effort.

Overall, these projects turned time-consuming, error-prone tasks into one-click or real-time solutions. The outcome has been consistent: time saved, improved accuracy, and better visibility for teams.

Q: What do you believe is the key to a strong working relationship between the IT department and the rest of the company?

A: Open communication and understanding each other’s needs are crucial. IT should listen carefully to business challenges, and the rest of the company should appreciate the technical constraints. Working collaboratively leads to practical solutions that benefit everyone.

Q: What is one skill you are currently working on developing that will help you grow professionally?

A: I’m currently building my skills in cloud technologies and automation tools, as they’re in high demand and widely used across industries. This will help me grow professionally and stay aligned with where the industry is heading.

Q: When you're not in the office, what's a hobby or passion that helps you recharge? Any favorite podcasts, books, or shows you'd recommend to our audience?

A: Outside of work, I’ve always been into sports, and going to the gym regularly helps me stay active and clear my head. I’m also really into tech. I enjoy watching videos about automation, new gadgets, and mobile launches, whether it’s iOS, Android, or Windows.

For downtime, I usually watch stand-up comedy. It's the best way to relax and laugh off a busy day.
